Excellent overview of biometric systems August 18, 2003

This book is an excellent overview of biometric systems if you are working in this field. The standard systems, as fingerprint, facial, eyes (iris and retina), signature and key stroke dynamics, and also more special biometrics (ear, odor, gait, brain wave pattern etc) are discussed in this book. It is also handling the risks of biometrics, for instance spoofing.Concerning standards that emerge in this world it gives an overview. Testing of biometric systems is also covered in depth. Furthermore an overview of identity cards and a review of systems is given. Many examples are shown and a wide range of references are used.
