Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Superb book both to learn from and to enjoy   March 23, 2000

This book is superb in the way in which it deals with the topic of wildlife painting. Edward Aldrich has gone into the methods for painting the details of fur and feather, giving very lifelike representations of the animals he has painted. The demonstrations were very helpful, especially the explanation of his methods, and how he gets past the stage where the painting isn't complete but he wants to quit. Possibly the only dissapointment was that the book dealt mainly with oils, although there was a small section on watercolour and pastels. All in all a superb buy, although I prefer the medium of watercolour I am learning a lot from his techniques, and would recommend this book to anyone regardless of the medium they use.
