I bought this book shortly after our springer spaniel puppy arrived home, and it was definitely worth it!
It doesn't cover everything you will ever need to know, HOWEVER it is certainly a start and in my opinion is very good value for money. It has practical sections on health and first aid too, which is helpful.
If you are planning on getting an ESS or already have one then this might be a useful buy.
 Don't buy a Springer pup until you have purchased this invaluable book. July 8, 2006

This book covers all you'll need to know. It has been carefully edited to ensure that answers, to your specific questions, are easy to find.It is a "sturdy" book that can be read over and over again without falling to pieces and all the information is based upon the authors considerable experience.

I was looking for a good basic information book to help me understand the needs of my puppy. This book has been excellent, it gives a good overview of the different blood lines and characteristics, and also deals with basic training, care and health issues. It has clear illustrations and photographs throughout and is very easy to dip into for advice.

After many months of searching for a ESS puppy, Yvonne put us in touch with a lovely couple who had just had a litter of puppies - one of which will be coming to live with us soon. The breeder recommended Yvonne's book due to the quality of information within it. I have to say after purchasing the book and reading through it I cannot wait to have our puppy join our family and start to put into practice the excellent information and guidance which comes through via her book. The contents of the book cover every aspect imaginable that an ESS dog owner/lover wish/need to know. Yvonne, thanks for the contact and thanks for the information.
