Really really really useful May 13, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
In almost two years of biological anthropology, I don't think I've written a single primate essay without using this book. It's an extremely helpful reference which covers every known primate species, living or dead. There are also very helpful chapters devoted to topics such as foraging, dentition, and socioecology. It's easy to read, and easy to find the information you're looking for. A very good gift for someone who's just starting to study this area - they're guaranteed to get a lot of use out of it!
excellent source of reference for primatology enthusiasts May 9, 1999 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
During college, I used this book extensively to gather initial information on primates. This book covers anywhere from the evolutionary relationship of primates, to the current dentition of any primate species. The book does an excellent job of cataloging primate species to be easily referenced.
