Wonderful resource July 20, 2008 This is one of the most useful books I've ever bought. Our pond is only three months old, and we are still spotting new creatures in it - so far there hasn't been one thing that I haven't managed to find in the book. The silhouettes at front and back are particularly helpful.
think Ladybird... July 11, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I hadnt seen the book anywhere else other than amazon. it was a toss up between this and the Collins "Freshwater life". It is far too basic - more suited to young children really. The illustrations are really poor - hence the reference to Ladybird in the title. It reminded me of the series I used to read in infant school.

This excellent book covers everything from microscopic algae to small fish and amphibians. Excellent illustrations and easy silhouette style key that takes you straight to the correct page and the short informative texts along side the illustrations. Don't go near the water without it!
