Promises much, but fails to deliver. November 16, 2008 In brief, this book contains lots of very interesting behind the scenes photos, which although often of quite low resolution (think 'home snaps') do set the scene well and tell their own story. However, the text is pitiful and amateurish. The result is a wasted opportunity that could have been so much better. Enjoy it for what it is, but don't expect anything that's particularly informative.
A FAB behind the scenes book. January 4, 2008 A fantastic read and a book to keep returning to. So many pictures I have never seen before. All Anderson fans should add this to their collection.

Luckily the pictures speak for themselves. December 13, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I brought this book sight seen but unread. I'd seen it in a shop, glanced at the pictures and thought I must have it! Well on reading it I have to admit to being quite disappointed. the pictures are a joy but what a wasted opportunity to tell an interesting insiders tale of working for Century 21. Alan is an exceptional model marker and artist but a shockingly bad writer and sadly you'll learn nothing at all about what it must have been like to work on some of the greatest children's programmes ever made.
At last, something genuinely NEW!! October 31, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
When I first noticed that this book was about to be published and "soon to be available" from Amazon, I placed my advance order immediately. Okay, so I didn't get my hopes up because I was fairly sure it would contain the same photographs that have illustrated countless volumes on the subject of Thunderbirds.
How wrong I was!
There are so many pictures here that have never been released to the public before, all courtesy of Alan Shubrook who was an employee of Century 21, working under Derek Meddings and Mike Trim in the "FX" department.
Grab your copy, I urge you. If you still appreciate the work of Gerry Anderson and his colleagues, this book will not disappoint!
