Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars A good guidebook.   December 2, 2008
This book introduces Tokyo (and Japans) history and culture. It give good tourist information and tells of the festivals and celebrations throughout the year. It contains many maps, phrases, a dictionary and a menu reader. The only negative thing about it is the lack of pictures (considering how big Tokyo is).

3 out of 5 stars Shallow   November 11, 2008
I've been to Tokyo quite a few times and usually relied on my Japan LP guide for places to see etc. But as I am now due to live in Tokyo for five months, the information in this city guide is pretty basic and shallow. I was hoping for much denser info on restaurants and different parts of the city so am quite disappointed.

On the other hand, for those planning a quick trip, there is probably enough info here. The map is certainly very handy whether you are dong a short trip or a long haul.
