Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars An unmissable read for Norfolk Terrier owners   August 5, 2002

This is a delightful and comprehensive book. It is beautifully presented and written in an authoriative tone with great perception and sensitivity by an author who obviously knows and cares a great deal, not only about Norfolk terriers, but dogs in general.
Every chapter is crammed full of useful information including:how to choose and care for a puppy; feeing; grooming (including stipping) and bathing; training; health care and behaviour. There is also a chapter on the history of Norfolk terriers (followed by ones on characteristics and the breed standard) which is enthrawlling and to comlete the picture, a chapter on showing.
The chapter on "house breaking and training" is first class and covers in a very sensible and practical manner all one needs to know to ensure that a puppy grows into a happy, well adjusted, obedient dog. The chapter on "Behaviour" too shows great insight and one can feel confident that this author really has mastered the art of being able to "think like a dog"!
The book is full of photographs illustrating particular points. The "everyday care" and "health care" photographs are excellent and each page of the book contains highlighted pieces of information for easy access.
This is an invaluable book for the Norfolk terrier owner or prospective owner which can be read from cover to cover or be dipped into as required.
