Top Notch February 13, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Fantastic live performance. Picture and sound quaility are superb. Don't listen to anyone who says they are going soft. Great bands such as Bon Jovi have the ability to evolve. They can still rock with the best!!
OH NO JOVI's GONE COUNTRY.... January 15, 2008 2 out of 7 found this review helpful
What happens if your a great rock band and you go soft, sure you make a country album, and for Bon Jovi this is it.For my money the weakest album they have ever recorded.Yes it's sold remarkably well, but,if this is what they are plonking out on their tour this year I for one will give it a wide berth.Richie Sambora is a great rock guitarist without doubt and Jon's a fine singer but this stuff is well below par.The concert is flat none of the energy we expect from this legendary band. This DVD is well recorded beautifully filmed, but there the excitement ends.It may find a wide audience but boy country music is so bland, other than the odd exception. So if you like the album you'll probably enjoy this, but even the old hits don't have much life in this setting,LIVE BUT LISTLESS.
Like vintage wine, they just get better and better...! December 31, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
A live concert of my all-time favourite Bon Jovi album ~ and there isn't a single bad track on it... Filmed in Chicago, it lacks the 'power' of when they play the big stadiums (this is a much smaller and indoors affair) and you have to put up with the really annoying habit US directors have of showing audience shots (when all the fans really want to see are the band performing...) but yet again Bon Jovi prove what they are the best at - on stage infront of an audience bringing their music to life. Shame they couldn't get Big n Rich or Leann Rimes down for the duets but a superb concert all the same. Some great bits between tracks when Jon gives background on the writing of the album. The bonus section also includes interviews with each of the band - overall a superb package and a must-have for any BJ fan.
Fantastic Jovi Concert! December 2, 2007 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
Bon Jovi are my favorite band of all time and their latest album "Lost Highway" is nothing sort of being a rock/country masterpiece. This superb DVD is a real must for the fans as it features live performances of all the songs that are on the new album, my personal favorites include the title track, "Any Other Day", "Seat Next To You" and "Til We Ain't Strangers Anymore". The sound quality is perfect and crystal clear, the band are still no.1 as you will see after you pick up your copy of this latest release. As well as the "Lost Highway" tunes, Jon and the band play three of their all time classics at the end, "It's My Life" from 2000, "Wanted Dead Or Alive" from 1987 and the more recent, "Who Says You Can't Go Home", one word describes it all, awesome!!! The bonus features are plenty as well, band interviews, a complete discography, back stage specials and bonus performances. A great extra in itself is that the DVD package contains a pack of photographs to keep and treasure. I fully recommened this DVD to all Jovi fans, it's magnificent and the ultimate rock band concert. Sit back fans and enjoy!!!
