A good product September 29, 2008 Hi
I just recently bought these. They are a good pair of grips, and really work your wrist, hands and forearms. I tried the usual 3 set 12 rep thing with these and could not manage more than 7 reps in the second set, which certainly means these are not kid stuff. The only reason I am giving 4 stars here(other than the fact that there is no 4.5 rating available to select, a shame) is because I thought it should have adjustible levels of resistance, and the grip bars though comfy are not ergonomic. Hence it takes some time to get used to them. They tend to slip away from their position some times.
Otherwise a great product for 5 quid.
Cheers Birdy
Feel the burn March 26, 2008 These are by far the best hand grips i have ever had. Alot stronger and harder than my previous pair. Great for arm stregnthening and toning. I would highly reccomend to anyone. M.J.S/2008
York Handgrips January 22, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I purchased these handgrips primarily to workout whilst watching TV, and they really are up to the job. These handgrips give a sound muscle toning workout to the forearms, without the need for going out of your way to use them. My one criticism is that a day after my first use of them, my palms felt tender and lightly bruised. This did not have a real impact and after about five days of using them, my hands started to adjust to using them, and now I have no trouble with them at all.I feel very happy with my purchase.
Good value for money June 28, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This product is an inexpensive hand grip that does the job it's designed to do although the ergonomics (how it fits on hand) is not great. Great value for money.
GOOD: Cheap; Durable; Does the job.
BAD: Ergonomics.
Cheap and effective June 22, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There's nothing special about this set of handgrips, which pretty much sums up the York range in general. As the other reviewer has said, you get what you pay for: the grip is slightly uncomfortable and they're not the most durable when compared to better (and more expensive) products on the market. But hey, they're under a fiver and they definitely have had an effect. After a week, I felt an appreciable extra strength in my forearms and hands so this represents good value for money.
Well worth a purchase, especially if you just want a set as an addition to your existing weight routine.
