5 out of 5 stars Excellent product from remington   November 15, 2008

If you are looking for something to cut your hairs short within a short time and without getting any help from somebody else you must buy this product. It is quite good on its duty. Don't wait to get a machine like you will have in a profesional cliper but it is enough to cut shot hairs quick and without living any long hairs on your head...

5 out of 5 stars Genuinely Impressed   July 24, 2008

I've been cutting my own hair (number 1 all over) for a while now but have never really found a pair of clippers that has got to grips with my hair. I have cowlicks and double crowns and random tufts growing in random directions all over the place. Because conventional clippers are just designed to be moved from the front of the head to the back, they're quite limited, in my experience, when it comes to cutting hair that grows at strange angles, or in the case of the hair at the front of my head, straight up!

With this design it genuinely appears that Remington have solved this problem. The clippers are small and easy to move in different angles and positions all around the head, including the dreaded back section, and because they're contoured to fit your head and can cut in any direction, I found they didn't have any problem cutting all the awkward patches of hair that normally elude conventional clippers.

There was no snagging at all and as a bonus, they're really easy to clean. I was previously using the Remington ceramic clippers and found they snagged my hair and were a nightmare to clean. Also I've previously used Philips clippers where the lockwheel determining the number of the cut has been very easy to accidently switch during the haircut, but the lockwheel on this is very sturdy.

Basically I'm very impressed with these clippers. I was sceptical as to whether they would cut close enough and whether they would be flimsy, but they've done an excellent job and by designed a pair of clippers that cuts from the top in any direction, it seems that Remington have solved the problem of clipping awkward hair.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant idea which works well   July 17, 2008

If you keep your hair in a short cut (half an inch max or less), then this is a really easy way to keep yourself groomed without going to the barber every week. The ingenious idea of a curved clipper works brilliantly at making it easy to go over your whole head evenly. There are no attachments to change - just set the length wheel as you like it, and start cutting. It's quite easy to use the unit to blend shorter to longer lengths at the sides, too - just set the wheel to the inbetween lengths and go over the area you want to blend. I've used it for both 'same length all over' cuts and short-back-and-sides style cuts, and they both come out really well - much better than cuts I've given myself with standard hand-held clippers.

You can remove the plastic attachment for an ultra-close cut (basically grade zero) if you like, too - so in effect, there are six cutting lengths which correspond to the old grades 0-5 roughly.

Great money saver, and keeps me looking neat and tidy very well!

5 out of 5 stars Very nice product, money well spent   June 24, 2008

Well, I ve just received and used the clipper for the first time.
I ve never had a haircut by myself with a conventional clipper so I might lack of experience . However I am really really satisfied by the end result

The clipper is so easy to use. The curved cutter as also the way you hold the clipper is very convenient when you try to do things on your own (especially at the back of your neck). Obviously there are places which are not that easy to clip such as behind the ears (I ve used pop-out trimmer there) and the hairline at the back of the neck. Even there you can do a good job using two mirrors after you get in terms with the fact that whenever you think of moving the clipper towards one direction your hand moves it on the opposite (but this would happen with any clipper). You could just place one hand on top of the hairline (so then you ensure that you cant cut it) and proceed by trimming the short hairs at the middle of neck (you could even use a razor there, as i did, if you are careful enough :) )

I have thinning hair so I do like to have my hair short. I ve set the blades to 4mm and I would like to say once more that I am really satisfied by the end result (i ve never felt that i had to review a product before)
My personal opinion is that it would be difficult for a conventional clipper to match this when you do things yourself. Money well spent for me.

3 out of 5 stars Don't chuck out the clippers just yet...   June 19, 2008

I had heard a lot of good things about this new design from Remington. I confess I am slightly disappointed by the reality. I have short hair anyway that only needed trimming, but what a struggle. It took ages and ages to get down to uniform lengths.

Like I say, don't throw out your old clippers just yet, they haven't been superseded just yet!
