Unimpressed November 3, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this in January and although I did use it a couple of times a week, this really is not up to the job. It's now broken. In fact it broke about a month ago. I put up with the oily smell that others had commented on but thought it would go. It didn't really. This time I'm going to buy a Kenwood as this one lasted for years and never complained about the amount of mixture! Don't buy it!!
Works well but keeps falling over October 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this mixer to replace a very ancient one from the early 1980s. Although it works well as a mixer I find that it is top heavy and falls over very easily when it has got mix on the blades - very irritating. The old one didn't do this. Luckily the James Martin mixer seems to be fairly robust.
Good handy mixer May 20, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this for my wife. she really likes it..now i am having cakes every other day ..the only negative point so far is the weight of this machine but otherwise very handy and easy to use.

I have had this for more than a year now and used it on numerous occasions for making cakes.I bake a lot as well as cook regularly, so I donot know what I would have done without this. The dough hooks are very good. The beaters as well as the whisk all do the job perfectly.I have made cakes, icings, cookies, breads, what not with this one.The speeds are good and though it is a bit wieghty to hold as another reviewer said,it is not like too heavy nor is it too flimsy.I like the look of it too, very neat and classy look.I would definitely recommend this.
one small fault April 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am very pleased with this product. It has more power than my old Kenwood and the extra attachments are a bonus. I had no problem with either strange smell or weight. The one difficulty I have is in ejecting the blades, as I have arthritic hands, the button is extremely hard to push
