More of the same, but not quite as good October 29, 2008 Out of seasons 1, 2 and 3, 2 is probably the best. 3 has some good episodes, but the overarching narratives peter out about halfway through the season. Episode 22 is particularly excreble.
If you liked seasons 1 and 2 then you'll love the first half of this, but the quality does dip a bit after that.
Am I the only one November 12, 2007 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
who can't stand viv? I love the show but my only quibble is that the writers expect us to believe that Viv could take on the top job when she is so useless and dumb all the time in addition to being vindictive and vicious. I keep hoping they'll get rid of her but she just keeps coming back.
Something better watched on DVD August 3, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I can only imagine myself watching this on TV (one episode per week), as I never did, but I admit that some of the episodes might look kind of weird, taken individually (with John Michaels as especially confusing). On the other hand, if you try watching it say three or four episodes a day, you'd get a whole picture, and then it is perfect. Personal life moments blend nicely into the cases, and you can really enjoy them all. There are series that grab you by the storylines. There are others, that grab you by the characters (actors?). There you can easily get addicted by both. One little problem. I do hate dual-layered DVD discs, but that's a minor complaint. And then: is there any reliable way to encourage the studio to release season 4 (5, ......)??
The best show on TV! July 19, 2006 18 out of 23 found this review helpful
Practically every episode of this show is perfectly written, immaculately acted and well directed. Would recommend to ANYONE, especially fans of CSI: New York, as they are both produced by the same people. I liked the fact that we got to see more of the characters' personalities shine through in this series, whilst the show kept the momentum of the storylines.
A Good Series...but.... July 17, 2006 14 out of 37 found this review helpful
The individual stories in Season3 are up to the standard of the previous two seasons.
However, with Jack's divorce and Vivien's heart condition, I felt that the personal lives the characters was too intrusive. Reduced from 5 to 4 stars because of this.
