1 out of 5 stars A leaking kettle   October 30, 2008

Had the same problem - the kettle began to leak at the base after only a couple of months. It's also very heavy and noisy.

1 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE....   March 22, 2008

I've had this kettle for a few months now and I must say that I was delighted with it at first! It has a smooth sleek design and it's a lot nicer to look at than my old Kenwood kettle (and a lot quieter too!)

I didn't read the reviews before I purchased the kettle - no doubt I wouldn't have purchased if i had!! Anyway, I had no problems with it to start with but after probably 2 months of use, it stopped boiling water correctly i.e. it would start boiling and then stop before the water was completely boiled. Quite a few times I poured myself a lukewarm cup of tea and was not at all happy!! Now every time I boil water, I allow it to finish warming up and then press the boil button again so that it finishes boiling properly (you can hear the bubbling). The kettle also started leaking shortly after this problem - not sure quite where it was leaking from but there was water everywhere!

All in all, I am very very disappointed. Bosch has a nice image and I don't know how they can bring out such an unreliable product. I'll be sending mine back under the manufacturer's warranty! DON'T BUY THIS - there are plenty of other much nicer ketlles that are both pleasing to the eye AND reliable!

1 out of 5 stars third time unlucky   December 4, 2007

I'm now on my THIRD black Bosch kettle. The first leaked from day one and was sent back. the second leaked after 2 months and was also sent back. The third one isn't leaking (yet) but switches itself off, so you basically have to stand and watch it. also all three kettles have made the water taste really weird... it doesn't seem to get any better with time either. I'm so sick of it I'm actually going to chuck this out and try the Krupps one, which i've heard is great. DON'T BUY THIS KETTLE!

1 out of 5 stars Disappointing...   November 11, 2007

After a saga involving several leaky stainless steel kettles I decided to a plastic one. I chose Bosch because of its strong, durable image.

Unfortunately, it started leaking after only a couple of months. The plastic panel and base were its weak points leaking profusely everytime the water was boiled. I ended up leaving the kettle to scale up so the limescale would patch up the holes. After using it for 5 months I finally decided to ditch it. All in all - I would not recommend it.
