AWFUL BY BOSCH STANDARDS! BEWARE!! November 16, 2008 Usually we buy Bosch and we have had excellent quality dish washers, washing machines, lawn mowers etc. But this item was absolutely awful - terrible design - the balance is all wrong, the component parts fall apart if you aren't careful transporting the iron from the cupboard to wherever you want to iron, the iron has a tendency to give brown marks to clothing,we currently have steam coming out from the back where the wiring should be and I could go on...blah...blah...blah...It's so awful I don't want to waste any more time on it and neither should you. Buyer beware!
POOR PRODUCT COMPARED TO THE TEFAL GV9150 November 12, 2008 I BOUGHT THIS IRON FROM BAINBRIDGE ABOUT A 1 YEAR AGO AND HAD TO RETURN IT WITHIN A MONTH OF HAVING IT BECAUSE THE STEAM WOULD NOT COME OUT AND IT IS SAFE TO HAVE YOU HAVE CHILDREEN BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HAVE A SHIELD LIKE THE TEFAL AND PHILLIPS. i WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE TO BUY. THIS IS A POOR PRODUCT FOR BOSCH HIGH STANDARDS. i WOULD NORMALLY BUY BOSCH.
My first steam generator - and I'm very pleased! October 19, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
When my last iron recently blew up I finally decided to take the plunge and get a steam generator. I was concerned that they were very bulky - that I'd have to stand it on the table and have cables trailing across the room + that the improved performance would be minor & not justify the expense - but I'm here to tell you, I'm delighted with my purchase. RE point 1 - the generator CAN stand on a standard ironing board - though it does of course mean you loose a few inches of board. RE point 2 - the power is excellent - from heavy denim to v.creased cotton bed linen - one "stroke" is enough - and I rarely feel the need to turn any item over to do the back. Other points to note: *I bring a bottle of water into my ironing room, and just top up the water tank as I go along *Very solid and attractive design *Beware of steam burns *After about half an hour our small spare room (where I iron) starts to resemble a Turkish bath!!
Pretty good July 19, 2008 28 out of 28 found this review helpful
I got this one after a very disappointing experience with a Tefal GV8120.
The quality of this product is far superior than the Tefal and the results are pretty good, exactly what I expected from a steam generator after upgrading from standard steam irons.
The reservoir (0.8l) is smaller than most in the same category or price range (1.0 - 1.4l) but the system is very efficient and you end up ironing a lot without needing to refil the unit.
Bottom line, I am happy and highly recommend this product.
