I still laugh when I watch this June 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I first watched the gods must be crazy 1 on vhs in the late 80s. Now I watch the DVD with my sons and still cannot stop laughing. A Bushman's incredibly simple way of life makes one wonder if all the development we have in the west today is really necessary. As he sets off to return an unwanted gift from the gods, he goes from one adventure into another, each one leaving us on the floor in laughter. The gods maust be crazy 2 is also quite funny although the story line is completely different. This will remain one of our firm favourites.
A laff a minute April 16, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This film reminds me of my childhood. We used to watch this back in the late 80s early 90s with my dad who has just recently passed away. The way the tribe men react to that bottle is one of the funniest things i've ever seen and the seriesof two films only gets funnier as it goes along.
Blast from the past January 3, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I last watched these films when i was little and always remembered them, so I did have a good laugh when i watched them again. My kids aged 9, 7, 4, loved it too. How the man with the landrover never swore is beyond me lol..... I have watched it several times.
made me wanna buy a Landrover December 21, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Oh my Gods.....What can I say about The Gods Must Be Crazy? It is an hilarious film that starts off with an excellent documentary style opening which I think works really well and adds a degree of cheesy humour. The first half of the film is brilliant with many humourous moments that have you reaching for the rewind button to see them again. The second half loses its way a little but still contains some classic moments. This movie is worth seeing just for the Landrover scenes...pure genius. I forget how many times I have rewatched these scenes but when i am feeling low I reach for the remote and laugh myself into a dribbling mess. I really really want an old tempremental Landrover for me to kick and shout at.

I just love this film, and the highest praise I can give it is that I cry laughing whenever I watch it. If you want guaranteed laughs, it comes highly recommended.
I'm also very impressed by some of the points made by the bushmen about how we Westeners refuse to adapt to our environment, but instead adapt it to suit us. Great stories, funny actors, complely harmless and compelling fun.
