I bought this book because I got invited on a trip to NZ and new very little about the place. I decided to go for something other than the lonely planet type books because they are all text and I learnt from Peru that something with a lot of pictures was a very good initial starting point if you wanted tips of the places to visit.This book is full of useful info about NZ and gives lots of good info on all the interesting locations to visit but best of all it has lots of nice pictures associated with the text so that you can get a true feeling about whether this should be in your list of places to visit.
Recommended as an initial starting point to a trip. When you have decided where you want to visit you can then get one of the textual based books to get the real fine detail of places to stay, routes to follow and so on.
