| Customer Reviews:
Very good species description, but... March 14, 2005 So,author describes most of pythons species of the world very nicely with many details.Very beautiful photos. Well designed, maps, pythons anatomy, scalation descriptions and so on. BUT!! For some reason author desides to break up with taxonomy of pythons! He joins snakes in one species instead of seven existing subspecies(his:Python spilotus, while it is Morelia spilotes and subspecies),he changes latin names of them as well (Python viridis...in stead of Morelia viridis). He even suggests to move Python reticulatus to...Morelia reticulatus. I don't regred that I bought this book, but I think that author is very...very brave man to fight with main taxonomy frame...
Complete and detailed herp bible February 5, 2002 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
All breeds are accompanied with colour photos, or where neccesary a detailed drawing. The book is biased slightly towards herpetologists who have a basic knowledge of this specialised subject, and therefore beginers may not fully understand some of the information given. But anyone who owns or wish's to own a python should have this title as their main reference. ENJOY!!
