a running bible February 15, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I went from a totally unfit non-runner a year ago to training for a 5K race using the plan in this book. It became my bible during this time, and since then as I have continued my running, competed in another race, and still find it fun. There are lots of inspiring stories and the plan is straightforward and easy for anyone, no matter how fit, to follow. Using this book, even I learnt to run, and to enjoy it, and if I can do it, anyone can!
How to get started on a new you.!!! February 9, 2006 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
You want to start running but find its too hard, or you can already run pretty well and you want to get better. Well this is the book for you, from complete amatures like i myself was to strong runners this book has it all, whats more the simple starting plan is so simple its brilliant yet it produces fantastic results without you falling over and coughing up a lung the first time you try it. The book contains a wealth of top tips, charts to record your progress, and 4 programmes that can see you go from couch potatoe to marathon runner(if you wish to take it that far) in a short period of time. I had been trying to run for a while and wasnt quite getting the results i was after, but after noticing this book in a shop i had a flick through it and bought it immediatly since then i havent looked back and my running has improved week upon week, my love handles have disapeared and im raring to go all the time. If you want to turn your life a round and create a new you this book will help you along the way, its your companion to a new you, your personal trainer that gives you advice when you are low and will make you smile when you are on a high and it will always have the time for you.Go on buy it now...
What a brilliant book! December 12, 2005 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This book is brilliant!I've been going to the gym for years but have always put off the idea of running, but now I know I will start thanks to the advice given here. I love the format used and it's written in such an easy to read, easy to understand way. Susie and Lisa dont assume you've got loads of time, or loads of money, and they pitch their ideas at you just right. I cant put the book down at the moment and I know it will motivate me into becoming a runner :-) If you want to start too, buy this book.
Running made Easy July 29, 2005 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is a fantastic book. I've liked the idea of running for a while but never had the motivation. This book has been the catalyst for me and now I've been running (well jogging slowly with lots of walking) for 4 weeks now. Very impressed with myself!! I've read bits of the book most days before I go out just to motivate myself and feel so much better when I come back. The thing I like most about this book is that it allows you to take it slowly and to acknowledge when you feel crap and hate running!! You'll find that you soon get addicted to the highs... You actually feel they these ladies have been through it and know how much it can hurt!!
A brilliant book for anyone about to start running July 20, 2005 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I had only run in the gym before and was interested in running a 10k race. Obviously this would involved preparation and working up to this. I was reading Zest magazine and came across this book as a special offer. It is the only running book that I've ever bought, but it is so inspirational with lots of success storeis from people from various backgrounds who now love running. Its so easy to read with well laid out chapters, hints and tips, a workbook to record progress, measurements and weight loss. It also has different programs for working up to marathon, 10k and half marathon. I'm now on my second week of the running program and loving it!I'd thoroughly recommend this book to anyone about to start running. Its so motivational!
