This book is primarily aimed at the display enthusiast. The techniques explained using live substrate and plants is fine if you only have one or two tanks, but people keeping more may find the methods very unpractical. However, there are good in depth chapters on breeding, health and so on. There is also a very good guide at the back to popular display snakes. However, it does not rate the ability level for each snake. The Green Tree Python is recommended as a good display snake, but that is a species that should be left to the more experienced.
When all is said and done, if your looking to set up a couple of good display tanks, then this book is just about the best out there.
