Read this and you too will experience a Cascade of emotions November 24, 2004 14 out of 19 found this review helpful
Rosie and Alex and two beautiful people facing a less than beautiful life but with a Rainbow between the showers. If you liked PS I love you, you'll love this second book. I was only into the first 20 pages when I experienced a cascade of emotions: laughter, tears, empathy, sadness but with an undercurrent of hope - hope that the rainbow will, as always, follow the rain shower. I was laughing out loud one minute: in floods of tears the next. I'd say it's even better than the first (PS - I'm loving it) and puts this young writer up there with Binchy, Flanagan, Feeney, Etc. Well worth the read but don't forget to keep the tissues close to hand - ten out of ten!

Cecelia Ahern's second book is as good as her first one. i couldnt put it down. if you have read her first one and liked it then i guarantee you would like this one. it takes a few pages to get into the style in which it is written but you get used to it. cant wait for her next book (hopefully there will be an next one).
Childlike but enjoyable November 21, 2004 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This book,is an easy non taxing read. It tells the tale of childhood friends who grow up writing each other letters and sending emails. The entire book is written through emails and letters, a formula that has been done over and over again. Rosie, the main character is lovely and easy to identify with. It's obvious from the beginning that Rosie and Alex are mad about each other. but a perfect book for whiling away a rainy afternoon. Enjoy!
Enchanting and emotional November 21, 2004 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have to say this is one of the best books I have ever read - and I read a LOT! I bought it today and have just finished it, I couldn't even put it down for my favourite TV programme!!It was occasionally frustrating that the style of writing prevented us from actually 'being there' for some of the major events in the story but that is just a minor detail and the book would not have had the same charm had it been written in standard prose. The main character was someone we can all relate to, we felt her emotions as if she were our best friend. I loved how the book told most of her life story in the present tense, I almost felt I was living her life with her. Having also read P.S. I love you, I can't wait for the next novel by Cecilia Aherne!
Fabulous Book November 18, 2004 This is an absolutely fantastic book! I bought it on Sunday afternoon, and finished it last night (not constantly though!) I felt like I didn't want to put the book down, and I was always carrying on reading further than I'd intended to because it was just gripping me, and I wanted to know what was going to happen to Rosie and Alex. The style of the book is a little unusual to start with but when you get into it, it does work really well.Overall, a fantastic book! I look forward to Cecelia Ahern's next book.
