Ingenious . . . marketing! June 9, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
OK, these stories are harmless enough, but certainly nothing special. In the blitz of publicity that surrounded the launch of the series, the author kept saying that the books filled a clear gap in the market: there was Horrid Henry for boys, but no equivalent for girls. Really? I'm not one to object to more 'girl power' in children's books -- the more, the better -- but it just seems wrong to suggest there are no strong female characters out there. All in all, another cynical exercise in celebrity publishing.

I love Ugenia! She is just fabulous and it is such a fun read. Love the quizzes at the end too.
