This book is a great advert for some of the unsung places for people and wildlife that are on our doorsteps, courtesy of the Wildlife Trusts. Each county has half a dozen entries with maps and clearly broken down information to help you make the most of your visit. There are also a dozen shorter entries for each county.The site decriptions are easy to read, moving through the seasons with clear information about the sites and the wildlife that can be seen by the visitor. Whether it's a family walk or a more specialist visit, this book willl help you get the most out of your local countryside. As one of the county authors, I have been really impressed by the quality throughout the book, and it's a great tribute to the work of the Wildlife Trusts.
