My son can't get enough of this book. He's one year old and just doesn't want anything else. It's beautiful to look at and a joy to read.
Enchanting book with nostalgic illustrations May 17, 2003

This is the story of a chick that discovers all the noises the other animals of the farmyard make. The narrative is simple and my 3 year old can recite it with ease, however my 10 month old is absolutely enchanted by both the rhythm of it and the beautiful illustrations. They are evocative of the wood cuts of the early 20th Century coloured with eye catching beauty. We love this book.
