 Cracking point and shoot camera February 25, 2008

Having lived with an old digital camera for a few years it was time to upgrade. The choice is just endless but I quickly homed in on this. The main criteria were big screen and fast shutter speed. My previous camera suffered horrendous shutter lag, sometimes 5 seconds, however this camera has virtually no lag whatsoever. It really is point and shoot.
The 3" screen is fantastic. Very bright, very clear and makes the use of a viewfinder pointless (which is just as well as there isn't one!). The quality of the pictures is excellent, no problems whatsoever.
As usual Canon (in common with other manufacturuers) have only included a minimal memory card, just enough for a few test shots. I immediately bought a 4Gb SDHC card, they are so cheap.
The battery life is excellent. It lasts quite some time and is certainly good for a few day trips. As always a spare is a good idea or judicious use of the charger while on holidays.
There are numerous settings and options. Plenty of pre-defined shooting modes e.g. kids, night, fireworks. The movie system is excellent and takes pretty decent footage with sound.
It's small, fits in a pocket, powers up instantly, the flash is bright and powerful, focus is very quick and the face recognition is impressive.
Not really much to fault especially at this low price. Some say the looks aren't up to much but I'd say it's pretty decent. You certainly got lots of features for the price. For an out-and-about point and shoot camera it's ideal.

I`ve got this camera just 2 days ago and i must say i`m very happy with it.Like a lot of other people,i have done a lot of research wich one could be the best.My old camera was a Canon IXUS II,with only 3.2mp,wich was very good at the time.But this one is great and i`m happy with it.

Bought this camera just over a month ago to upgrade from our old 4MP one. We both found it very easy to use, with a good size screen on the back to review all the snaps. We also found it very easy to download onto our PC. The pictures we took were all pretty good quality (from a non-expert point of view!) including the images we took in poor light/night time. We also took some short video clips, which have downloaded to an alright quality too.
Like I said we're no great experts in the photography arena - however, if your looking for a compact, stylish, easy-to-use camera (that takes good quality pictures - that's what it's for after all!!!), then I would 100% recommend this one.

Definitely worth the price, the image quality is unsurpassed. Many friends and relatives have been asking about the camera, in fact, i'm an due to order another one for a family friend's birthday!
Battery life is amazing, the wide screen also makes the camera very easy to use. Colour is good both indoors and outdoors. Flash is also very impressive. Can't think of one negative thing about the camera, cept maybe that it doesn't come in pink!
