This carpet cleaner is very good. We recently moved into our house and bought a puppy who has done most things on the living room carpet (beige). After using this machine it is now very clean and even the darker stains which I was doubtful about came out. The only downside is the noise - but next time I will wear ear plugs. Other than that a very well designed, comfortable and easy to use cleaner. Can't wait to use it again!

It is light enough to carry it from room to room (and even a 10minute walk to my daughters home to clean her rug).
and the dirty water tank to collect all the water from the rug, leaving it almost dry when your finished.
I bought this vax carpet cleaner because my 8 year old rug in my living room was looking very tired and grubby (it doesnt help that i am a dog owner) and no matter how many hours i have spent on my hands and knees, grazing my knuckles, scrubbing the rug, it has never come up as clean as it was when i bought it.
The first time i used the vaz, i was surprised how easy it was to set up and fill and empty the tanks.
On top of that, i dont remember the cream border ever actuall being as bright as the vax made it.
I cannot say enough good things about this product as it is just so perfect.
I STRONGLY RECCOMEND THIS AS AN INVESTMENT TO ANY FAMILY HOME OR TO ANYONE WITH PETS!

Not quite as good as we expected, we had problems with the solution leaking from the tank but we did fix that by making adjustments to the rubber seal at the bottom (twisted it round a few times)just hope the problem doesn't reoccur. Also we found that the hose attachment for doing the stairs wasn't very good, when you press the trigger to release the solution it tends to squirt out the sides rather than towards the front so if you do chairs for example the most of solution will end up on the floor.
On the whole its not a bad product and does a good job also the price we paid from Amazon was good too making it acceptable.

I had the original orange Vax which I always loathed using. Way too many tubes and wires and always managed to spill water all over the place when filling or emptying it.
As a dog owner, I really do need some way of cleaning carpets on a regular basis and thankfully the old orange version gave up the ghost last month! This upright version seemed to be the answer to all my prayers - and it very nearly is.
After a little head scratching to build everything (it really wasn't that bad but I seemed to end up with some spare tubing! turned out this is for the upholstery hose . . .) I was ready to go. It's an absolute breeze to fill and empty this Vax which is a good job as my only gripe with it is that I had to refil it 7 times to finish my lounge carpet! OK, so I do have a larger than average lounge, but it is not exactly huge.
However, it is so easy to fill and empty that it wasn't really a problem and even this small gripe is outweighed by the ease of use of the machine. It even fits nice and neatly under the stairs, rather than having to live in the garage with all of the extra appendages that were required for the old version.
All in all, I'd recommend this product for anyone who wants to be able to quickly and easily give their carpets a spruce up. My carpets came up brighter than I'd ever seen them (we inherited the carpet when we bought the house!) and it did a great job of a rug that has never been cleaned before.

This product is excellent. I have a dog that attracts mud, and is generous in her redistribution around the house! I was hopeful yet nervous about this product, having read the other reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to set up and use. The machine cleans well and is itself easy to clean and store. I felt the carpet dried sufficiently quickly. The machine is lightweight enough to use for a long time. The foaming amount was correct, and didn't block the machine. The emptying of the dirty water reservoir was easy, if a little shocking at how dirty your carpets are! Only one warning: All your family and friends will want you to go round and clean their carpets!
