Flawed. October 9, 2008 Warning! This is a terrible piece of design. One false move of your wrist and you take a chunk out of your face. If the guard was designed better it would be great, but it is unfortunately awful. I don't know how they didn't notice it before they released the product.
Great Idea... Just rubbish in practice!! October 1, 2008 I fancied a change of image back in June and decided to go for the shaved head and designer stubble "bad boy" look rather than my usual clean shaven, spiky hair look. Went to buy myself a set of clippers and I seen this in alongside the clippers I fancied so I thought Id give it a shot. It certainly looks the part and at 40 its pretty expensive for a beard trimmer. The cool thing about this is that you can just push a button and the head automatically rises or drops to the setting you want. It goes down to 0.5mm which I liked because that gives you the 1 day stubble look I wanted. Also liked the idea of not having to oil the blades.
Unfortunately in practice this doesn't work quite as well as I hoped for. You have to make so that the trimmer is at 90 degrees which is hard to do especially around the chin and cheek area. Also nicked myself a couple of times while using the 0.5mm setting. When I wanted longer stubble 1.5mm - 2mm, I found it very hard to get a consistent length all over my face. In fact one time I got really annoyed and pulled out a Gillette Blue II and shaved everything off.
Its a shame because Babyliss have a really great idea here. They need to re-design the head and guard area so you don't need to continually hold it at 90 degrees. Also heard people complain about the battery power, so maybe they need to look at this to. Ive have recently used the 30 day money back guarantee and am on the look out for a better trimmer.
Great shave for short stubble September 30, 2008 After reading some of the other reviews about people cutting themselves I was a little worried when I first used the ITrim but I have not had any problems at all it is great not even one little nick. I can see what people mean about the guide not comming forwards and I agree this is a design flaw but I like the 0.5 setting so dont have a problem with this. Also I have used the longer settings for my sideboards and have found it great with no problems. I would really recomend this product if you like short stubble its great!

Trims your stubble fine but after about a month mine stopped working. First the variable trim setting stopped going up and down, then it just started going on and off when it liked, and eventually just stopped altogether.
out for the count in five days. July 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Cuts my beard well when fully charged up. However my beard is typically coarse and takes a while to cut evenly. The Babyliss I-Trim looses its charge after a couple uses and by the fifth day (if i am lucky and it lasts that long) will cut out and need recharging to the max. This product doesn't do what it says on the tin. I am now on the hunt for a replacement - any ideas?
