Just buy em, these things are great! Look like real candles, recharge easily, look good on the dining table and a surprisingly good replacement for candles. We were purists at the dining table but now use these all the time!

These lights are effective. They truly do give the impression of being real candles, and are very easy to use. After charging for 12 hours on the charging stand, the candles are removed and can be placed anywhere, together or separately, indoors or outdoors, where they will continue to give a soft flickering light for up to around 24 hours. Turning them on and off is achieved by simply tilting the candle to the side. Some times you need to tilt them a couple of times in order to work, but I have never had a problem.
They arrive well packaged with three candles and a charging stand which is plugged into the mains. And the box is attractive enough to give these as a gift.
The only issue that I could mention is that the instructions give the impression that further individual candles can be bought, so that you can be charging ones whilst others are in use. However, search as I might, I have not been able to find individual candles for sale - only the complete set of three with the charging stand. However, at this price, I am impressed enough to go out and order more sets - which I have to because my wife loves them and wants to use them all through the house!

I was given a set of 3 candles as a present and indeed only 2 out of the 3 work. As I was given these as a gift I can't really disappoint the giver and go through all the hassle of returning them etc.
So beware, not all of them might work.
Also it says in the instructions you can buy more candles separately. No where can I find these separate candle lights for sale, even on the Philips website.

First set arrived and there was one faulty light with it.
Second replacement arrived and the same fault was present
Sent it back for a refund
Cant recommend this item and would give it no stars if this was possible

As a fan of real candles, I was very dubious when I was given these. But they actually give off a lovely flickering glow, and look great on my fireplace, without worrying about smoke and live flames.
