1 out of 5 stars Short Lived Experience   September 16, 2008

I have given this one star as it has to have at least one, by choice it would be ZERO!! We live in France, but on our last visit to the U.K.we bought a Tefal One Cup in England. Back home we used it with an English socket, as I did not want to change the plug in case of any problems, just as well as after just one week it stopped working! The water comes through but only un-heated. I contacted Tefal U.K. for advice twice by e-mail and have received no reply to date.Tefal France, who I have also contacted on a different matter, replied by return! We are now stuck with a useless machine until we next go back to U.K.

4 out of 5 stars I love it and everyone wants one   September 15, 2008

My ex brought one of these home just before we split. It's the one thing I missed when I moved out!

So I went straight out and bought one for my new flat. With a huge procession of friends and family visiting all the time, everyone has commented on it and lots of people have rushed out to buy one too.

I work from home so an instant cup of tea a dozen times a day is brilliant. It's very easy to use, clean and maintain. Filters are expensive but my answer is just not to change them as frequently.

Until I read the reviews on here a minute ago, I wondered why my cups of tea were going cold so quickly. The whole "only heating it to 85 degrees" thing makes sense now. Personally I haven't found my tea tastes any different at all, but I will try to drink them more quickly from now on rather than wandering off and leaving them on the desk/windowsill/top of the TV (you know how it is).

Overall I absolutely love it and so do all my mates - there's no way I'm going back to kettles!

5 out of 5 stars MCB   September 14, 2008
As soon as i read about this product i had to buy it and as it was made by Tefal i was well pleased having had some of their previous products. I decided to buy it from Tesco paying more than on line to make it easier to take back if it went wrong but i need not have worried as it has worked perfectly since christmas.I think this product is absolutely fantastic and can have a cup of tea made in seconds when i get up or if i am busy where as before i would put the kettle on repeatedly and not get round to making a drink. Well done Tefal for a first class product

1 out of 5 stars Not a kettle and won't boil water   September 13, 2008

I bought this, enthused about its potential energy saving as I always try to do 'my bit'. I was met with a product that took distinctly longer than 3 seconds to boil water (more like 30 seconds), left a white foam on the top of the cup of tea/coffee, and was only luke warm. I phoned Tefal, and was told the water should come out at 85-90 degrees and that it did not boil water (this was stated, admittedly in the very back of the booklet it came with in small print). In fact, my own kettle was broken as it was only producing water at 55 degrees when I measured it. Not a great start. Also disappointed that it didn't boil water, as I was specifically after a replacement kettle - apparently other companies that sell this Quick cup are not required to have to put on their website that this is not a kettle 'though they are encouraged to'. Mine went back, and I bought a 'proper kettle' (tm).

1 out of 5 stars The first kettle to drive us mad!   September 8, 2008

Just about to buy another kettle to replace this, thought it was a great idea so gave it a whirl...! OOPS... it really drives us mad in our house, firstly its quite noisy, you end up with water all over the place, and it vibrates so much it actually moves across the worktop, then misses your cup and you end up with even more water... Oddly it makes coffee taste very watery if that makes sense, no idea why but it does...
I Don't think the product should have been released before being fully sorted tbh!
off now to buy a normal kettle again.
