Good book but have an open mind still... December 7, 2007 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
I've read 5 books by Neale. It was such a revelation when i first read them...i totally agreed with most of the things in there, until I read this other book, DECEIVED BY THE NEW AGE, by Will Baron...and that changed my whole outlook on these books.
Please please read this book and then you can make up your mind from there...as its good to see things from another perspective...Good luck!!!

I have read this book and The Ultimate Guide To Cosmic Ordering Empower Your Destiny: Take Control of Your Life, they are both amazing and insightful and I would tell anyone who wants to change their life to read both of these books. This was an excellent read, I liked it so much that I read it twice. Inspiring.

I only read a few chapters before I realised this was a money making book with little new to the more widely read reader. Its a repeat of old ideas.
Awesome. And - if you let it - life-changing September 10, 2007 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
The fundamental premise of Conversations With God is that, ultimately, God is love, truth, joy and freedom.
If you look at the Bible, it clearly says that we are all made in the image of God. Hence, our true nature is love, truth, joy and freedom.
If you want to believe in a God that is vicious, vindictive and vengeful - basically a God that displays all the worst elements of humanity - fine.
But it isn't a God that I can believe in. No matter how he is portrayed in the Old Testament. Namely, that all unbelievers will burn in hell for all-eternity, etc. etc. etc ... Wow. What a stable and well-adjusted God ...
If you don't want to believe in a God that is love, truth, joy and freedom, fine. But that is the only God that I can believe in.
If believing this makes me in league with the devil, I'll take that.
If believing this makes me in league with the devil, that must mean that the devil is love, truth, joy and freedom. Whereas God - according to many of his "followers" - is vicious, vindictive and vengeful - to all those who don't believe in him. And all those who have the "wrong" idea about him. I.e. that, actually, he is love, truth, joy and freedom. Unconditionally. In other words, that he is merciful and all-forgiving. To all.
Hmmm. And we wonder why we are messed up as a species.

I must admit that I read this book a good few years ago and since then have read books 2, and 3. I went back to it the other day and its content is still as inspiring as it was then. Whether you believe that the authour is actually having a converstaion with God I think is irrelevant as the content is thought-provoking and inspiring. I suppose you take what you want from it - your truth - and leave what doesn't work for you. This book helped me to challenge my concepts and beliefs about my understanding and relationship to God. It definitely motivated me to continue on my journey of spiritual development, and many years down the road, I still return to this great book for inspiration.
