this book was the final jigsaw in a personal journey that had started long ago, it took a long time but after things got as low as it could ever got, this book was the final piece of a series of events that just seemed to be falling together- like the author says, we all know these truths for it is in all of us, we all feel them, but fear, doubt, and false love of the world prevents us from seeing this if people could be more open minded, less hypocrital and judgemental, and truly love their fellow men as they love themselves, then the world would not be in this mess most of us have read the bible, is something not wrong with it if the world is like this? the answer is within the kingdom of God is within you and around you, this is what this book teaches and this has always been evident to all of us, but do we have ears to hear and eyes to see? the greatest compliment i could pay the author is that i could have written that book, in fact i have written it so many times in my mind but what so afraid to just BE
Conversations With God November 24, 2005 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
Cwg Book 3, apparently, took 4 years to write -- for some reason God only appeared in fits and starts to Walsch. This is reflected in that it is a long book, but this is not solely due to it's sheer volume. God likes to talk. A lot. In fact, one question from Walsch gets a 4 page answer in some places. Indeed some of the material is profoundly remarkable and on-the-point, such as learning about how the highly-evolved societies of the universe live and about unity/oneness with God. One of the most major flaws though, in the entire series, is that God is not forthcoming with a single shred of advice on how this unlimited power/endless happiness/abundance is achieved. Just HOW we become "one with God" is never explained. If we cannot implement the ideas and concepts then the information (the "knowing") is useless, and Walsch never seems to realise this. There are many gems in Book 3, it's just a shame you have to wade through so much padding (namely God's constant babble) to get to the good stuff.
Simply superb November 8, 2005 39 out of 42 found this review helpful
If you are open minded enough to try understand the revelations in this book, you will see it for all its excellence. If you are in any way stubborn or reluctant to remove from the traditional distorted views of organised religion, this book may not be for you. But that's ok, because thats what the whole idea is - there is no competition with the Bible, Koran or any other proclaimed word of God, this is just a book. The author doesnt ask you to take his words as truth, rather to seek your own truth and reach your own conclusions and that sounds divine enough for me.
New age babble with sinister undertones August 14, 2005 28 out of 126 found this review helpful
This is a new age spiritulism/pantheism text. The conversation is not with the God of the bible. The book has a lot in common with the doctorine of Aleister Crowley and other forms of witchcraft. In fact it dismisses the bible very early on as "just words". It is written to appeal to people who like the idea of spiritualism without any of the commitments such as obeying God's commandments (which it also dismisses). The God in this text is only an observer with no interest in human actions. People of Christian or Jewish faith will find this text at best rubbish, at worst disturbing and evil.
one of the worst books I have ever ATTEMPTED to read May 31, 2005 15 out of 70 found this review helpful
I like to think of myself as a spiritual person and have all of those years at Sunday school etc... to back it up if you need it! However, I found this book utterly unbelievable, unlikeable, unreadable and uninspiring. I believe that God shows us miracles everyday and in some of the smallest ways imaginable-but using Walsh's hand as a vessel for His word? More like for the author's word and a continuing book deal as you need to by his other books to really get any conversation or food for thought. I could not even get past the first chapter and it is now at my local charity shop. But hey, this is just my opinion and for my conversations I am going back to the Bible.
