5 out of 5 stars Tres cool game! ; )   September 5, 2008

This game was a complete success from my point of view, as the first game I have ever played.
This is why: There were a lot of games, which were easy enough to play, an exciting storyline and wonderful scenery! The white snowy landscapes, the icicle encrusted benches where technically awesome! The storyline was pretty scary too since there is one scene where you get clobbered in the head, one where you get stuck in an elevator and one where you get stuck outside. I learned a lot about the french revoultion and Marie Antoinette. The game has a lot of humor, especially the catastrophic Professor Hotchkiss!!!
Anyway, the only downside would be that, like all other games, it ends.....
Just in time to buy another one! :)

4 out of 5 stars Haunted Carousel   January 4, 2008
Several of the reviews on here are not for The Haunted Carousel but are for other Nancy Drew games.
My nine year old found this quite easy compared to other ND games and not as good as Treasure in the Royal Tower or Message in a Haunted Mansion. The Second Chance option is useful at the very end. Saving your game regularly is also recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Great!   October 28, 2007
This game was enjoyable to play, and it was great to be able to travel around, whereas with some ther Nancy Drew games, you are stuck in one building. The only problem was that there was some kind of glitch with mine, I think this is rare as not many people seem to mention it, it meant that one part of the game was not possible to play, but there is a download from the her interactive website to solve it, and from then on it ran smoothly. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes a puzzle, and doesn't mind spending time on their games.

2 out of 5 stars Okay but nothing special   June 8, 2007

I wasn't really into this game to be honest. It just didn't have that special ND magic that the other games I've played have.

It came across as being fairly basic with not a terribly strong story line and most of it I found quite dull. Some of the puzzles were good and there were some interesting surprises, but in general it just didn't do anything for me.

4 out of 5 stars Enjoyed it   April 29, 2007

One of the better Nancy Drew games, in my opinion. Better put together than the earlier ones, with a nice set of characters.

Had some trouble working out how to get where around the lodge, and the woods themselves can be confusing to the point of irritation, but that may be the fault of my impatience rather than the programme.

Strangely enough, there doesn't seem to be much of a mystery to the storyline, which seems just to get in the way of some fun games.

But an enjoyable game and well put together.
