Works fine on XP July 15, 2008 Wasn't sure about XP compatibility, so asked Amazon to check it out. They did and it does work with XP.
Our son got it for his 6th birthday and *loves* it. Great value (5 CDs in the set), some he whizzed through, others are really stretching him. Would really recommend, especially for the price.
He's happy, we're happy :-)
Absolute garbage, doesn't work properly in XP March 21, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Do other searches on the individual programs in this package and you'll see comments about problems using XP. GSP (the company who made these games) is gone, and support is non-existant from the new owners. I've tried running under compatibility mode, etc. Most won't install at all and generate .dll errors in the installation applications. Maybe if you have *exactly* the right version of DirectX, the right set of patches, some other Windows 95/98 programs that have already installed some ancient .dll's or whatever you may be able to get them to limp along. Save your money.
Reader Rabbit Value Pack December 11, 2006 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This pack of 5 CD's is simply great. We have been looking for a while for something to help our 6 year old in his Key Stage 1 study which would be both engaing and educational. This hit the spot and he loves to play it, we have to ration how long he is allowed to play.
The only gripe I had and a minor one, was that the Reading CD runs in a window rather than full screen like the others. The automatic level adjustment is simply brilliant and just as it gets to easy and starts to loose it's appeal, it ups the level and things get going again.
The price is also fantastic as a five pack, much better than getting them singularly. Funny thing is it does not come up when you search for Reader Rabbit on Amazon.
