5 out of 5 stars On top of the moon   March 20, 2008

Installed and activated without any problems what so ever (clean install). Having started my computer career with Windows 95 and upgraded with each new release I can easily say that Vista is by far the most stable, user friendly OS to date. Just installed SP1 so the whole experience has just got better. For those with a negative view, take a bit of time to explore the new features and you to shall be converted.
Once again an online purchase pleasure through Amazon.

4 out of 5 stars Windows Vista Home Premium   March 17, 2008

I would recommend this operating system to anyone who has just bought a new PC or has a PC witch is less than a year old and it must have at least a dual core possessor with 2 gigs of ram and and a 256mb Graphics card.

Vista is an easy operating system to get your head round its very similar to XP in design but with a new age finish. It is very polished and very very easy to install.

It has a vast amount of new features and improved old fav's as well Media Player 11 and Internet Explorer work flawlessly with the operating system unlike with XP.

Its not a total reinvention of the OS but it is a worthy evolution and bear in mind Service Pack 1 is out tomorrow and will most defiantly improve it further!

Yep, and they are not the only ones. Better to stay with Win Xp pro.

1 out of 5 stars Just how many more trillions of dollars does Bill Gates need?   March 2, 2008

XP works. So why 'invent' Vista? Just another way to part suckers from their hard earned moolah! If it ain't broke why fix it when reinventing the wheel lines Bill Gates nest?!

This is a cynical piece of marketing, put the seed of doubt into XP users minds....make them think Vista is oh so much better than what they have already got, after all all Vista really is...is.... here a tweak; there a tweak; everywhere a tweak tweak etc...

The boot up sound should be 'Kerrrching!!!'.

Sure it looks great, nicer colours, Mac rip off fades etc... errr...why don't you all just buy a Mac......you know you want to!! Once you try a Mac....you never go back! It seems strange that all the reviewers lauding the virtues of Vista are describing what my Mac already does and has done for a long time. Sure Steve Jobs also has pots of money....but his ethos is to make using a computer a pleasure, Gates seems to delight in making you fight with your PC to make it behave...I mean...for goodness sake...having to download upgrades etc to make it work properly? Are you nuts?!

Don't line Bill Gates pockets any more.

Welcome a Mac into your life....go on! I have never had mine freeze; crash; commit an "illegal" operation; or give me cause to do what PC owners do....get the stone cold feeling in their guts when they see a blue screen!! You poor saps! Bought the snake oil didn't ya!

When I bought this I did not know what the OEM/OEI meant. As a result I purchased a product which I can not get support for and cannot activate. The product seems to be sound but essentailly Amazon does not make it clear enough that this is a product which should be bought only by manufacturers of new PCs. (eg DELL HP etc).
