Studio version 11-hated it September 6, 2008 When I bought this product I was very pleased with being able to cut scenes with it but I had lots and lots of problems. Firstly I tried to Insert a recorded video into it using the method it showed me, however it came up with an error. Of course instead of telling me what was wrong, it said "Cannot continue- error 0245634" or some other number. I had to download a free version of roxio to format my file because pinnacle couldn't do it for me. After sorting that out I found a problem with menus. I realised that you are limited to one menu per disc and when you try to make more than one it asks you to upgrade to Pinnacle 12 for 60 -almost the full cost for pinaccle studio twelve. Also when I finished the my 1 hour 30 mins dvd it came up as being 6.0GB - far too big for an average 4.7GB dvd. I tried to shrink it useing dvd shrink but it was protected and when I tried to transfer Mt film onto a PsP but it was not detected on the console. The only way I could shrink it was to only make it work on a small screen.
I think that I couldnt have made a worse choice!
Not quite up to the job May 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a hard disk camcorder and bought this to capture and edit my movies, only to find it doesn't work with HD cameras or on a USB. This is not new technology so for me a bit of a waste of money.
Really good March 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this item to edit photos and videos and could not believe how easy it was to use. I had to go on the website and upgrade to Studio 11.1 so my CD/DVD burner could be recognised but once this was done I was away. Brillant software.
Studio 11 has many problems October 18, 2007 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
I have been a Pinnacle Studio user since 2000 and always found it satisfactory, however since upgrading my OS to Windows Vista and purchasing Studio 11 I have been unable to capture video. It drops frames immediately capture starts. Since August 16th I have been in communication with Pinnacle and now, two months later, they are still unable to offer a fix or find out what is wrong with their program. Studio 10 and XP SP2 worked perfectly OK but there must be compatibility issues with this latest release and Vista. I will have change to Adobe software if they cannot fix it soon. Do not waste your money on this one.
Do not waste your time or your money. October 7, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
If you like spending hours wondering why certain clips won't import/render/playback properly, why the Make Disc operation insists on creating corrupt VOB files and like installing and re-installing (a Helpdesk favourite - a la IT Crowd), Studio 11 is for you. Studio 11 is super-slow just to compound your misery. It is bloatware par excellence so Vista users will be on familiar ground. Many useful basic functions are available at extra cost like MPEG2 encoding, NTSC/PAL, MP3 encoding etc. Like previous Studio versions, Studio 11 will be patched and may even be useable to some eventually. With Studio 11 you'll be forever waiting for the next patch (employing the Jam Tomorrow principle).
