5 out of 5 stars fantastic!!   October 28, 2008
When our baby was born, both my husband and i would spend our nights looking at our baby to check if she was still breathing. After a week of this, we bought one of these and its been fantastic. We now get a decent nights sleep without the worry. Well worth the money.

5 out of 5 stars Peace of mind   October 17, 2008
My husband bought the BabySense 2 about two weeks after our daughter was born. I hadn't wanted anything like this, as I was convinced I'd turn into a neurotic mother who had to monitor every breathe! I'm so glad he bought it anyway. We started using it when she went into her cot at the age of two months. Quite the oppostite of what I'd initially been thinking, having this has made me so much more relaxed when she's sleeping. We've never had any false alarms, although we do keep forgetting to turn it off in the mornings, so end up making a mad dash back into the nursery!
I think this product has given us peace of mind, and much better quality sleep. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

We have an eight month old baby and have just purchased this monitor. We had previously been using our Tommee Tippee Ultimate sensor monitor which has been great too but for the last couple of months the alarm has gone off several times a night where the baby has rolled off the sensor mat.
I was not happy about spending yet more money on another monitor but for peace of mind decided I should. At last a peaceful nights sleep!!
The Babysense mats are great and do cover the whole cot area. There is no sound monitor though so I still use the one from my Tommee Tippee. I would definately recommend this product to those purchasing their first monitor but would suggest that they also purchase a basic audio monitor to work alongside it

i bought one of these monitors for both mine and my sisters babies and found them invaluable. it gave me a much more relaxed night sleep. i was forever looking at my baby and checking he was still breathing, as i think most new mums do, but feel more confident to sleep now. the product is only slimline and really easy to use. i can really reccomend it for your piece of mind

We had the monitor bought for us when we brought our son home from the hostpital. He weighed 4lb. He was born 7 weeks premature, weighing 2lb 11oz and spent a month in our neonatal unit. Although he was fine, he always had an apnea alarm testing his breathing and so we thought it would be best to be on the safe side and get one for our home. My Uncle bought this monitor from Amazon.

It had proved to be invaluable and given us peace of mind (we also kept forgetting to turn it off!), until our son became 6 months old.

We also had the horror of the alarm going off during the night. Checking he was ok we turned the light off and half hour later it happened again! We checked every connection and his position but all was fine. As he was still in our bedroom I left the light on and watched him. Sure enough the alarm went off again but he was breathing fine. In the end we turned off the monitor and I watched him all night.

The next day I checked the instructions and I then realised it was my son who had broken the machine. It states that the item is very sensitive and not to treat the monitor roughly. My son had been kicking the monitor which was at the foot of his moses basket (still being small for his age he still fitted in his moses basket well). That was the night the alarm kept going off!

My advice is that this is a fantastic piece of equipment and I would recommend it to everyone. Just don't put the monitor where little feet can do big kicks! My son is now in his own room and I'm getting used to life without the monitor - just.
