2 out of 5 stars Addictive but doesn't last   December 31, 2007

I bought this for my 7 year old son for Christmas. He loved it but broke it on the same day. The axel for the wings broke and you can't fix it since it's too fragile. I was quite disappointed. Maybe it's just my son who breaks things all the time but I was expecting something at this price to be a little more dureable...

5 out of 5 stars Lovely gift   December 27, 2007
I wanted to write how brilliant this little helicopter is!
I bought it for my partner for Christmas and he was extremly happy when he recieved it.
The helicopter didn't need to be charged straight away, so he was able to try it out. It was easy to control, after a few bumps!
When he showed it to some relatives, everyone wanted a go. Now we are buying more for future presents!
Overall this helicopter is fantastic value for money and brilliant fun ~ for everyone!!

When I first saw this helicopter I thought that my 8 year old son would take all of about 5 minutes to break it. Surprisingly though he had it mastered within 5 minutes and flying all around our lounge. It's a little frustrating having to recharge every 6 minutes but he had resigned himself to this. However, for some reason (18 hours later) the helicopter won't charge at all now which has of course made it completely useless.

5 out of 5 stars Most fun you will ever have for under 20!   December 26, 2007

Can't believe how good this is, the value for money is brilliant. As you take it out of the box it looks one of the most flimsy things you will ever see, I was a bit sceptical as to what would happen under the inevitable crashes.....but no fear must of crashed it a hundred times and nothing has broke yet, the tail rotor (it comes with a spare tail rotor but not needed so far)and main rotors are the bits that may break but as soon as you hit something kill the throttle and it seems fine even though it will tumble to the floor! I think it also has a built in sensor that kills the power if you crash which protects the blades.

I did have a problem at first at getting it go where I wanted which is entirely normal I should think if you've not flown one before, you must get the trim right to stop it spinning out of control, but it's easy as long as you read the instructions and as other people have said just weighting down the nose should help, I used a drawing pin but it's a bit of trial and error. My advice is learn to fly it in the biggest place you can find with few obstacles, outdoors is fine providing there is literally no wind. Once you get to grips with it it's amazing fun hovering around rooms and obstacles, I still crash but I'm confident it's not going to break.

The only downside is the flight time per a charge but for under 20 you can't have it all, 4-6 minutes flying you get and that literally flys by!, then you have to let the battery cool for 5 mins before recharging, then re charge it which is around 20 mins. This is more frustrating when you're learning to fly it as you will mainly crash then when you just seem to get the hang of it then the battery dies and you have have to wait 20-25 mins for another. Once you can fly it you spend most of the time airborne and get maximum fun. I suppose a solution is to own 2 or more of these babys so you have less waiting time, I'm tempted to order another!

5 out of 5 stars Tremendous fun, but....   December 26, 2007

Having read some reviews with negative comments I can only assume that some people do not read the instructions carefully, and this nearly applied to us. Follow these carefully and there will be no problems. We have two flying under the control of 12 and 10 year olds and they were made to sit down and read before flying, not easy but they did it! The result is loads of fun (cat not too impressed by whiskers nearly shaved once) and the skills that the boys are now developing are very satisfying to watch.
BUT, I bought four in the belief that three could be flown at once, three channels available, only to discover that it is not possible to change the channel in the helicopter itself. Without specifying colours we have ended up with four Red ones, all on channel A. As only two are likely to be used in the same house after Christmas this is not a major disaster, but we would like to change one unpacked Red machine for any other colour.
Anybody in the same predicament??? Tony Marshall 01225 426732
