Loved it but needs to be a bit more difficult December 9, 2007 31 out of 32 found this review helpful
I love Harry Potter so therefore loved this game! If you've played any other version of scene it then the concept will be pretty familar if not then i'll give you a keep run through of what to expect:
You have to roll 2 die...a numbered one and one with symbols which refers to the challenge you have to complete. You have to complete various challenges in order to win this game some are interavtive such as my play, all play and all play to win, there are question card's which are either about the magical world or the muggle world...usually question's about the actors and directors (they tend to be the most difficult) or you have to pick a house point card and follow what it says. if you get a question right you move the number of spaces on the dice.
Theres also party play if you can't bothered with using the board, it just gives you random questions and you have to be the first to answer.
Overall its good fun....if you're obcessed with harry potter (like me) and know both the films and the books you'll find this easy but it's still alot of fun.
If you already have the first edition don't bother with this, my friend made that mistake and wasted their money because there isnt much that's different.
The only thing is that more from the book needs to be added so avid fans may find that fact disappointing.
Its a good game for all the family....i especially enjoyed being able to win my dad at something.
If you don't have the first edition, get this. November 2, 2007 57 out of 58 found this review helpful
Fans of the Potter films will be enthralled for hours on end. My kids don't seem to mind that the questions are a little on the easy side; there are certainly plenty of questions, clips and games to get through.
I have only two negative points to mention,. The first is that owners of the first edition will get poor value from this purchase; the first edition covered the first 4 films already, so you're only getting the fifth film in addition. To be fair, though, there is some new content other than the 5th film.
The other is that the focus is solely on the movies rather than the books. Most fans will have read (or had read to them) books 6 and 7 by now, and it is a shame that this material could not be used in the game too.
