This is not the average documentary TV show. This show doesn't try to be a sweet&sour National Geographic-like high-school mixture of history, philosophy and sociology. It doesn't try to sell anything because it knows better. Sure, everything in it is very clear and easy-going. Viewer doesn't have to be a history or philosophy expert to understand and appreciate it. But this show it's much, much more besides that. It's beautifully crafted and extraordinary intelligent. I have the feeling Michael Woods achieved something so rare in these days - he made a masterpiece. He showed us our past and, we can like it or not, our future. And he made it look so easy.
