Will blow you away January 28, 2004 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
This film is excellent for people of all ages. Its great fun and a great piece of Disney magic. You even get the choice if singing along with all of the songs. Once again great fun and the best story ever.
"Practically perfect in every way!" October 6, 2003 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
This is fantastic for viewers of any age - even better for the younger ones because they won't notice Dick Van Dyke's atrocious cockney accent!Just sit back and relive your youth - those rainy days when you found yourself in front of the TV popping through a chalk picture, laughing uncontrollably and floating up to the ceiling or dreaming that you could just snap your fingers and your toys would up and march into the toy chest themselves! Wondrous, magical and like I said before - and to quote Mary Poppins herself - "Practically perfect in every way!"

Bought Mary Poppins for my kids aged 14,10,4 and relished viewing it again with them. The 4 year old is the one who keeps watching it over and over but all of them sing the songs. Don;t miss it.

"supercalifragilisticexpealidosious" what else can be said about this movie. Walt Disney at its best. Even comparing to animation today, movies today miss the "supercalifragilisticexpealidosious" characteristic of this movie. it generates warmth to all who watch it. it also causes a smile to appear on the face of whomever is reminded of its essence.
A classic February 11, 2002 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Everything about Mary Poppins is brilliant. The music is legendary and it is certainly no surprise that songs such as A Spoon Full of Sugar have become household whistling tunes! The best part has to be the trip Mary takes the children to the country. But forget wearing wellingtons and wrapping up in duvet-thick coats - the country is animated with a host of loveable animal characters that each contribute to a fanastic musical sequence. Also, don't miss 'Feed the Birds' - the whole song is just excellent and from the little ornament of St Paul's Mary starts singing with at the start of the song to wher she tucks in the now sleeping children while finishing the number can get you quite emotional and is a classic. You never forget the film's different scenes and at the end where Mary leaves the Bank's house on Cherrytree Lane, you really are downhearted that she's leaving. Just enjoy the film.
