Good Historical Account for an Enthusiast January 10, 2003

This is good introduction int the history of the Royal Marines. It covers each major saga since their inception in 1664, detailing the progression from ships gunmen to the elite force that they have become. The video would serve as a good starting point for anyone wishing to learn of the background of the Corp or for someone wishing the join. There is a brief forward by the Captain General of the Royal Marines - The Duke Of Edinburgh and detail of the VC's awarded to the Corp. The story behind the Globe and Laurel unfolds as the commentary runs but some areas are understandably shortened such as WW1 and WW2. There is also little on the Falklands Conflict but the video should be seen as an overall appreciation of the history of one of the Worlds finest fighting force
