The last of the Aladdin trilogy May 27, 2003 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
Before I begin, I'd just like to clarify that this is the third Aladdin film. It was always Disney's intentions to have an Aladdin trilogy - there are NOT five films! In this third outing Aladdin and Jasmine finally get married only to be disrupted by the forty thieves who's leader just so happens to be Aladdin's father... I thought the story of this film was very good and the humour is just fantastic (provided by the genie in Robin Williams naturally). Unlike other Disney sequels all of the original voice cast return. Some new characters are established also, rather than having to rely on old villains. These are most notably the forty thieves who are just hilarious. After sequels like 'Return to Neverland' and 'Jungle Book 2', you'll be asking yourself why out of all the sequels this was not released in the cinema. As for the DVD, I believe there are no extras which is the only disapointment but like the majority of Disney DVDs the picture quality never looked so good.
Do not buy this cynical rip-off of the original March 1, 2002 22 out of 38 found this review helpful
I bought this because I thought it was the original authentic Aladdin story. It isn't - it only covers the end of the story when Aladdin marries Princess Jasmin. This film is garbage. It gave my four year old son nightmares. It is just a cynical attempt by Disney to cash in on the success of the original Aladdin by dragging the story out over 5 sequels (yes 5 - this is the fifth one - can you believe it). As an adult I found it boring - its full of filler, no story just lots of really bad music and moronic animation scenes that move really fast to give the illusion of excitement...
A FANTASTIC THRILL RIDE October 25, 2000 7 out of 19 found this review helpful
I AM NOT A MASSIVE FAN OF DISNEY FILMS BUT THIS ONE IS ABSOLUTLY OUT OF THIS WORLD. IT TAKES YOU ON A THRILL RIDE THROUH AGRABA AS ALLADIN TRYS TO FIND HIS FATHER WHO IS THE KING OF THEIVES. ITS ABSOLUTLY GREAT AND YOU WOULD BE MAD TO MISS OUT ON THIS EXELLENT FILM.THIS IS WAY BETTER THAN THE ORIGIONAL OR THE SEQUAL. BUY THIS OR YOUR LIFE WILL BE INCOMPLETE BY FAR.PS its fun for the whole family
