This book is a lovely introduction to birdwatching, with many beautiful photos taken by Bill Oddie himself.It starts out with the fun of garden birdwatching and then shows how to go further afield, take notes, and look up an unknown bird. It is full of Bill Oddie's enthusiasm for the subject and is written clearly with illustrations and photos throughout.
Highly recommended (and not just for under-10s!).
