5 out of 5 stars An excellent read for all who find animals a Curiosity.   September 10, 2001

This book is a good read for people of all ages, as the language used is often simplified enough for all ages to understand. Whilst still using scientific words with suitable explanations, thus making this book a good read for students studying behaviour. The most intresting part in this book is that it asks as many questions as it answers, making you want to read on constantly. Even after finishing the book I wanted to look into the subject of animal intelligence more. There are Glossy colour photographs in the book which illustrate brilliantly many of the subjects approached in the book. There are good examples used throughout the text, which the every day person can relate to their pets ,or a creature they will have seen. George page rarely seem to give his own opinions and findings, usually pitting scientists from the past against each others findings, once or twice through the book you are left scethy about a conclusion but as with all sceince maybe you have to draw your oown conclusions.
