An Essential Buy!!! November 24, 2002 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I purchased this book as it was seen repeatedly on my reading list! As a first year psychology student, I have found it very helpful- especially when covering neurophysiology and neuroscience! It is a very detailed text (which can either be a blessing or a curse depending on how you look at things?) I found it was a little too detailed and covered far more than what I needed. Having said that, I feel its better to have the extra information at your disposal just incase you have to expand on a particular topic. Like the old saying goes, 'its better to have it and not to need it, than to need it and not have it!' The book has a good layout and covers a wide range of topics. It is clearly presented with easy-to-understand colourful diagrams that supplement the text brilliantly. Even though some of the subject matter covered by the book is quite complex, it has been presented by the writers with great clarity. This book is comprehensive, clear and definitely essential for any psychology undergraduate! Once you own it, you will be turning to it again and again.
