Breathtaking!!! November 22, 1999 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I come from England and the wolf was made extinct many years ago. I've never had the opportunity to see these magnificent creatures. Jim Brandenburg's breathtaking photography, combined with his haunting prose, makes you feel as though you are with him as he walks you through his experience with 'Brother Wolf'. Experience is the key word because you can't help but identify with the wolves as Jim Brandenburg tells it like it is. This book is a must have for anyone who has ever picked up a book!!Simply breathtaking.

I had just finished my second trip into the boundry waters , when I came upon this book in the Trading Post of the Base that I was leaving out of. It was an Eight hour ride home, so I had plenty of time to read it. The pictures are so beautiful and realistic even today when I look at the book it feels like I am back "Up North"

This is the most beautiful wolf book I own. The book reads poeticly, and will make you seriously fall in love with this animal. You will see through the wolf's eyes. This is one of few books were the author photographed all wild wolves, and never "lived" with the pack to do it.
A beautiful collection of pictures and words. August 5, 1998 This is a wonderful book. Jim Brandenburg does a superb job of blending words with pictures to tell his story of the wolves of Ravenwood. This book is a definite "must" for all wolf lovers!
