5 out of 5 stars Great advice for Graduate Designers, a must read before leaving Uni   April 28, 2008
This book contains a great wealth of knowledge that I wish I'd read a year ago when I was still a student. I studied computer science rather than design and am a software developer but I still found this book highly compelling and informative.

5 out of 5 stars The things they don't teach you at uni.   April 27, 2008
An excellant book for a graduate about to begin a career in design. Full of great advice and experiences that you will learn from. If you are serious about making it in design read this book!

5 out of 5 stars READ THIS BOOK! NOW!   February 6, 2008
Not only is it a perfectly designed book and joy to hold and read (design by Bibliotheque), Adrian Shaughnessy really explains things well. For me, I found that it boosted my confidence to get on with my work. The interviews he has with other designers adds plenty of other view points.

I think the best way you can describe this book is by thinking of it as having a conversation with an intelligent person. Just after reading a point, I would have a question in my mind that I would want to ask Adrian Shaughnessy if I were sitting next to him and by the time I read the next sentence it was answered, it was like he knew what I was going to ask.

Great book!

5 out of 5 stars Refreshing   September 28, 2007
One of the most refreshing books I have read for years. Clear, humourous and encouraging.

5 out of 5 stars Essential   September 2, 2007
A completely unique book written for a world where a foot in the door almost takes off your toes. A guide which contains information that most people have to learn the hard way.

A brilliant designer, who gave me some great advice over a beer or two!
