 Good Motivation for Girls Learning to Read December 8, 1998
My 8 year old daughter, who is usually not very motivated to read in English (though it is her first language), found the comic book form quite attractive. The story is quite in line with the Beauty and the Beast films and has solid moral values.The dialogue is simple, and the pictures are very interesting. It is a great way to motivate girls (and possibly boys) who are moving past the beginning reading level, but not yet ready for chapter books
