Well written and well researched, provocative & entertainingDecember 21, 1999 This is a terrific book! Farlew Mowat is an excellent and entertaining writer who has been researching early trans-Atlantic voyages for years. He relies here mostly on archaeological remains that are much more convincing that some of the fanciful interpretations of overly imaginative writers. He even reconsiders some of his earlier work on the Vikings! Highly recomended!
