 Really Juicy! an inspiration for writers and creators alike August 21, 2008

This book is another in a long list of wonderfully inspriring books by SARK: Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy. This one is about creative writing and how to do your own, how to start, how to carry on, how to delight yourself with your writing. SARK has a charming and positive way of saying the truth simply: that nothing is holding us back from development in any direction but ourselves, and possibly one or two coincidental things like weather and "crabbiness" as she puts it. In other words, all our human-ness. All her books are written in gorgeous full colour as if the author has opened up a blank book and simply filled the pages with words and drawings using coloured felt pens. It makes one want to do the same, just holding the book, let alone reading its wisdom! I particularly love, in this book, where Susan says, as a creative writing suggestion "decide not to write: take the day off: go to see some films- just before you go, note down what you want to write when you return. (this often leads to lots of writing)". Its a great book to open at random and, as with all SARK books, I can genuinely say I wouldn't be the same person I am now without them. Heres a tip: get a packet of juicy marker pens (Crayola are my favourites) along with the book- you'll be dying to start!
